Remy Martin VSOP Matt W Moore Edition Cognac
Rémy Martin has teamed up with Matt W. Moore to rethink the way we see the world. Going beyond mere packaging, the American artist has created a new graphical language for the Remy Martin VSOP Matt W Moore Edition Cognac. Inspired by the Cognac environment, Moore introduces a realm of discovery, blending natural elements like grapes and leaves and even revisiting Rémy Martin’s cherished centaur logo, prominently outstretched in geometric splendor. Moore, nicknamed “MWM” for short, is a man of many tastes and talents. More than an artist, he is also a graphic designer and a basketball enthusiast. He became world-famous for a digital-abstract style he calls Vectorfunk. Through this unique form of kinetic art, Moore creates an expressive visual language that explores colourful geometric patterns and semiotics.
Remy VSOP has flavours of dark bittersweet chocolate and caramel treacle wrapped up in old leather and oak spice. Given time in the glass, the cognac begins to lighten with flavours of sweeter milk chocolate, some spicy cloves and fresh from the box raisins which reach out to the taste buds. Lurking further underneath the main flavours are oaky vanillans, roasted brazil nuts, port dipped cigars, and a touch of briny salt.
NOSE – Dominant notes of vanilla thanks to longer aging in French Limousin oak barrels, followed by ripe apricot, baked apple, and an elegant floral note.
TASTE – A perfect harmony between the firm character of ripe fruit and subtle notes of liquorice, offering a great complexity of elegant and powerful aromas.
BODY – Well-balanced, structured, and multi-layered, it combines the roundness of ripe fruit with a silky texture.
