Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve Gift Set brings two etched glasses – one with a mustache & top hat, the other with eyeglasses & bowtie – in a masculine gift box with Brut Reserve NV Champagne.
This Brut contains yeasty aromas of apple, warm biscuits, toasted nuts, truffle, and minerals. A rich, nutty midweight with enticing coffee, mushrooms, and truffle notes. Smooth and harmonious, with a brisk framing acidity. Nicely balanced Champagne with good intensity and length.
IT IS WITH BRUT RÉSERVE that the House has expressed the quintessence of its style. Particularly recognizable, this cuvée is the fruit of a unique blend that can be summarised with one equation: 60/40/10.
60: The number of crus gone into a blend that is precise, stringent, and tailor-made. Wines produced that year, a third for each varietal (Meunier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir), are vilified cru by cru, varietal by varietal, in stainless steel vats.
40: A high proportion of 40% reserve wines, equally divided between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This will ensure the fine complexity and indulgence of the Brut Réserve.
10: The average age of the reserve wines, an exception in Champagne. Taken from the best crus from the best years, the wines placed in the reserve are kept in vats for between 5 and 15 years, if not more. The purpose of this is to develop finesse and their aromatic range.
