Brockmans Gin
Brockmans Gin is a beautifully made, intensely smooth gin to be enjoyed into the night. It is deliciously sumptuous with a daring allure. The flavour notes that make Brockmans so unique are derived from an intriguing and unique bond of flavours. The Bulgarian coriander plays its part and has an aromatic, almost gingery orange flavour, which marries beautifully with the softer, more rounded harmonies of blueberries and blackberries. This inspired combination, together with the dry, bitter sweet peel of Valencia oranges, prolong the deeper tones and serve to give Brockmans its intensely smooth, beautiful taste.
Creating Brockmans required the different skills of a group of very experienced and devoted friends. What brought them all together was an enduring fascination with this exciting and exotic spirit. Their combined knowledge of gin history, and the subtle nuances of different styles of gin and distillation proved invaluable as they set out to create a gin that was completely new and original. The one aim was to create a gin Like No Other; one that was so intensely smooth and delicious you would happily drink it neat over ice.
Honing the intricate balance of botanicals took time as they explored the vast array of complex flavours and taste combinations. It was a jointly funded passion where quality was never sacrificed and the finest botanicals were sourced from around the world. Hundreds of different recipes were tried before they arrived at the sensual, intensely smooth Brockmans taste experience.
Brockmans Blackberry Chicken Wings
by Amanda Dales
- 24 chicken wings
- 1 pound blackberries (fresh)
- 1/4 cup of Brockmans Gin
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 1 tablespoon of ketchup
- 1 teaspoon of Sriracha
- sprinkle of chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- zest of 1 lemon
Method
- Preheat your oven to 400 f.
- Place your wings on a foil covered tray and bake for 35-40 minutes or until thoroughly cooked through. Whilst your wings are cooking, make your blackberry sauce.
- Muddle your blackberries as finely as possible. (If you have a food processor, give them a blitz.) In a large bowl mix your blackberries with the gin, vinegar, honey, ketchup, Sriracha, chili flakes and olive oil. If you desire, you can strain out the blackberry seeds, but I don’t mind them.
- Once your wings are cooked through, brush them with your blackberry sauce and then sprinkle over 1 tablespoon of brown sugar over your tray of wings. Return them to the oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove them from the oven and let them cool for about 3 minutes. Then top them with lemon zest and reserve the rest of the unused blackberry sauce for a dipping sauce for everyone.
