Bacardi Banana Rum
Bacardi Banana Rum has aroma notes of fruit and candy banana, sweet brown, caramel and vanilla with an aftertaste of sweet banana with burnt sugar, sweet brown notes and butterscotch.
A small family decided to purchase a distillery in the beautiful city of Santiago de Cuba on February 4, 1862. Smooth, light-bodied spirits were produced in the moderate tin-roof distillery with bats in the rafters and what is now known as Bacardi was born. Bacardi has been owned and operated by family members ever since Don Facundo Bacardí Massó founded the company – seven generations ago! They are currently present in more than 160 markets worldwide. This includes the United States, Mexico, Italy, China, Brazil, and many, many more.
In many countries and cultures, bats are considered a symbol of good fortune. Among local Cuban populations and the Bacardís’ native Catalonia bats also represent faithfulness, discretion, and brotherhood. When Doña Amalia Bacardi saw fruit bats in the family’s distillery, she knew it was a sign! The bat soon became the rum’s symbol and is still used today. It was a logical choice for a logo since bats are natural friends to the sugar cane industry. They pollinate the crops and prey on the insects that can cause damage to it. Although the logo has been changed graphically throughout the years, the Bacardi family still looks at it as a sign of persistence and determination.
