Patron Roca Reposado Tequila
Patron Roca Reposado Tequila is a light straw color with transparency. The aromas are sweet of vanilla, delicate butter, and citrus with earthy notes of American Oak, mushrooms, and light ginger. Your taste buds will be on a trip with smooth, fresh flavors of the nose including caramel and cooked agave with a light alcohol bite. A long last finish is complex and smooth. Roca Patron is 100% Tahona – a very rare method of production used in the past. It also has a 5% ABV increase, which may not seem like a lot, but is significant in the spirits world.
They didn’t invent tequila, but they did perfect it! Patron is handmade in small batches so it’s exceptionally smooth and sweet. It’s delicious on its own or even better in your favorite cocktail! Patron is crafted from the finest, 100% Weber Blue Agave and their bottles are always hand numbered. The company’s Jimadors (agave harvesters) are so skilled, they can tell by looking at the plant if it’s ready to be harvested. They use a sharp tool known as a Coa to uproot the plant. They then strip the leaves away to reveal the heart of the plant called the piña.
Once the piñas are hand-chopped, they are baked in small brink ovens for even cooking and then crushed by a two-ton volcanic stone wheel and roller mill. This process takes time. The mixture that results from this is fermented for an additional three days and distilled. In some cases, the liquid is distilled in handcrafted barrels. Patron Reposado ages for a minimum of two months while the Añejo 7 Años ages for seven years! Time and tradition is what it takes to create perfection – from the inside – out. The entire process takes place at Hacienda Patrón. They have an eco-friendly reverse osmosis irrigation system and recycle the agave byproduct. Only 60 hands touch the tequila from beginning to end.
Patron Roca Reposado Tequila
Patron is known for its heavy glass bottles. They are modled perfectly imperfect by glass artisans in Mexico. Each bottle is uniquely different. The best part? Patron follows through with details down to the very end. They use fine Portuguese cork to top most of their bottles while their higher end ones are topped with fine French crystal. The crystal is designed by the masters at Lalique. Now that’s really a crowning moment.
