Formerly known as Grgich Hills Cellars, Grgich Hills Estate is a located in the heart of Napa Valley in California. The name change came about in 2006 when they first started to produce wine that were grown and harvested exclusively in their own vineyards – making the wine “estate grown.” Grgich Hills also converted to use solar energy the same year. The vineyard is certified organic and bio-dynamic, which is another form of organic farming. After years of complications, Ggrich Hills Yountville Selection 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon was born. #1 Engraved Wine Bottles CA.

Miljenko “Mike” Grgich became recognized in in 1976 at the Paris Tasting. During a now extinct blind taste test, a panel of French judges sampled an array of French white Burgundies and the up and coming Napa Valley Chardonnays. Grgich’s 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay was awarded the finest white wine in the WORLD! Mike was then known as one of the greatest winemakers.

Decades later, he continues his legacy. Mike’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Yountville Selection earned 91 points from Wine Advocate and is only expected to grow in taste for the next ten to fifteen years – if you can resist opening it for that long! Indigenous yeast and French oak barrels start the process of the wine for 21 months before they are transferred to oak casks for the final six months, just before bottling. This process gives the wine a strong oak aroma and taste along with juicy black berries, cassis, and a long, elegant finish of mocha. Unlike most Cabernets, Yountville Selection is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon with a well-balanced and full-body texture.

Grgich Hills Estate is in possession of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines in Napa Valley. The original Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon vines were planted in 1959. Throughout the years, the historic vines contracted red leaf virus, an infection of the leaf that is similar to a potassium deficiency that reduces the brix level in fruit and can delay harvest which is one of the main reasons the vineyard switched to organic farming in 2003. The plants responded quickly with better health and allowed the grapes to reach the ideal ripeness!

Coprodeli currently has 25 schools across Peru and over 64,000 students have been served since 1994. 90% of graduates from their 2011-2012 class continued onto further their education. The name Coprodeli comes from the beginning letters of community, promotion, development, and liberation. The idea for the community outreach program came about in 1984 when Padre Miguel began to establish the program for the extreme poor while maintaining his first parish in Callao, Peru. In 1989, he finalized his efforts and founded Coprodeli.

BV Coastal Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Wine has a dark, ruby-violet color with aromas of black & green peppercorn, currant, mint, and black tea. It is medium-bodied while the aromas echo onto the palate and are touched with dark chocolate. A velvet finish is light, making it super easy to drink!

Beaulieu Vineyard, better known as BV Coastal, is a wine company from the Napa Valley region of California; specifically known as Rutherford. BV has a history of growing grapes on the best vineyards in Napa. They now own and operate over 10 different vines. It all started in 1904 when Georges de Latour bought his first vineyard in Rutherford. This vineyard is now known as BV Ranch #1. Georges didn’t want to just make wine for California, but for the entire world! In 1934 de Latour went abroad to France to find a winemaker & viticulturist who would bring the fine European wine making techniques to the heart of Napa Valley. His one stop was at France’s Pasteur Institute where he found André Tchelistcheff – a Russian immigrant whose insight, experience, and leadership would eventually revolutionize wine making, not only for BV but for the entire Napa Valley. The methods he introduced to the vineyard and winery earned him the industry’s most infamous title: “The Maestro.” He has a constant pursuit of higher wine qualities and whenever he reached that goal – he wanted to go even higher. He continues to find new and innovative winemaking ways.

André was born to a noble Russian family. He studied viticulture and enology at the Pasteur Institute and the Institute National Agronomique in Paris. Once he arrived in Napa Valley at Beaulieu Vineyard (which translates into Beautiful Land Vineyard,) Tchelistcheff introduced the European methods of pruning and cultivation. He also emphasized to increase the level of sanitation in the winery. For many, this would have been all; But for André.. This was just the beginning. He began tasting wine from every vine on the Rutherford estate. The rigorous small-lot fermentation continues to this day. A cold to ferment white wines and making malolactic fermentation in red wines (a process in winemaking in which tart-tasting malic acid, naturally present in grape must, is converted to softer-tasting lactic acid) were also André’s doings. His palate was so pristine, sampled a special lot of Cabernet Sauvignon from 1936 and emphasized it received a separate bottling due to its quality. That bottling is known as Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Tchelistcheff retired from BV in 1973 but returned in 1991 to consult with the new Director of Winemaking: Jeffrey Stambor.
